Maternity Wear
So we just got the good news that we’re expecting a baby and all are in tears of happiness and rejoicing; it’s been nothing less than a blessing waiting to happen and everyone’s preparing for the arrival of that little bundle of joy- from cribs, bottles, and rattles to clothes, bibs and baths. But who’s taking care of mummy? An expecting mother has more needs than just vitamins and checkups; she needs a total and complete change in wardrobe while still maintaining style. What she needs is maternity clothes.
Expecting mothers should try to shop in the maternity section instead of looking for clothes of bigger sizes. Why maternity clothes you ask? Because your regular clothes will have you bursting at the seams and even if you go up a size or two or five, your tummy will continue to expand as your precious baby grows. Maternity is a personal experience and no two women can feel the same way about the process they encounter, but what they have in common would be the agreement that clothes from maternity stores are the most comfortable things to wear. They are big, loose and airy, giving you space to move around and get on with your day without feeling constricted whatsoever.
Don’t think maternity clothes are all big frilly dresses in whites and pinks. There is a wide range of clothes available be it tops, pants, dresses, skirts, undergarments and even pajamas! Choosing what to buy is entirely up to you, clothes even if it’s in the maternity department can be highly fashionable as well. Generally pants comes with elastic bands that are adjustable to the growth of your stomach and tops are seamless giving you room to breathe, while tops and blouses of maternity clothes are just like your regular ones only they’ve got extra material at the bottom to accommodate your extra bulge. As for dresses which are the most common, are similar to tops and have got that extra material to provide space for the growing stomach. Last but not least are the bras that expecting mothers should invest in. Today’s market provides nursing bras which come with a clip at the cup so that breastfeeding won’t be too much of a hassle and of course each of these clothes comes in their appropriate sizes, usually to match the trimester of your pregnancy.
When it comes to selecting the types of material, choose what suits you best and what you’d prefer. Of course for the most comfort and breathable spaces, cotton can be a top choice but for that extra comfort when you want that nice touch, satin and silk can be quite a luxurious touch. The most comfortable clothing an expecting mother can have would be their pajamas; this being because it’s what they will be wearing the most and when they hit the sack which should be when they are most comfortable. Pajamas material can be a combination of cotton, polyester, spandex, rayon, lycra, viscose, cotton blend and so on but these being the most typical.
All in all, when you’re expecting, it matters that your comfort is your number one priority after your health. So take care to shop and rest while you await your precious little baby.
